Man hospitalized after being shot on East Side, SAPD says
The shooting happened around 2:15 a.m. Sunday near the intersection of Rigsby and Roland Ave.
I see headlines like this, and it triggers memories of a line written by Joseph Wambaugh over fifty years ago. I think it was from his first book, THE NEW CENTURIANS.
The cops respond to a fight possible stabbing at a black nightclub. They find a woman who is bleeding from an abdominal wound. One cops askes, “Did you get stabbed in the fracas?”
The woman looks down at the wound and replies, “No, I think it was a little bit above it.”
Is an east side wound location determined by which way the victim was facing at the time of the injury? Just asking for a friend.
