Boston knows whores, this is a state where the State Legislature thinks that Federal Prison is part of their retirement package.  I think all of the speakers in recent memory have wound up at Club Fed.

I have previously written about Massachusetts attempts at social engineering by uprooting entire populations see: politics/the-demise-of-professional-courtesy/. The latest scheme doesn’t involve the massive movement of neighborhoods, but certainly signals the belief, at least in Boston that free enterprise is dead. 

The last time Boston experimented, they moved all the whores, topless dancers, b-girls and assorted hangers on from Scollay Square and moved the politicians in, renaming the area Government Center.  Nobody noticed.

The “Red Light Zone” was moved about a quarter of a mile away and was known as the “Combat Zone”. Prostitution, strip clubs, adult book stores were all fine as long as it was confined to the “Combat Zone.” Increased police presence was supposed to keep the body count within acceptable levels. I haven’t paid any attention since the late seventies and have no idea as to the current state of affairs.

In the latest variation on a common theme the Boston_police_want_to_send_prostitution_customers_to_john_school. From the article:

Police are set to receive a $30,000 grant from Demand Abolition, a Cambridge-based advocacy group, to bring city and state officials together with victims’ rights groups and other local organizations to go over new strategies to fight sex trafficking, Gavin said. The effort is part of the ongoing CEASE initiative.

Daniel F. Conley’s Office, said the state’s Human Trafficking Task Force and the DA have pushed for a “john school” — a required class for men charged with solicitation where they interact with victims of sex trafficking — as a way to make men aware of the criminal world they are supporting.

Help me here, tell me if I’m wrong, the Boston police propose to educate a group of men on how to interact with prostitutes to make them aware of the criminal world they are inhabiting. This after first catching them interacting with prostitutes, out on the stroll.  Weren’t they already doing this without the assistance of Boston PD? What is the object of the training, increased efficiency? price control? etiquette?

Is this an admission that customer and service provider can’t hope to work in a cooperative manner to achieve a mutually beneficial result without government interference? Just what is attendance at such a school going to get them?  Are the Johns now certified to make a run at a whore in a suitable manner?
