California has banned government travel to a variety of states, for a variety of reasons. It is virtue signaling at its most obnoxious. Here is an example of the double speak and mental gymnastics that liberals go through to justify their hypocrisy in order to ignore the rules they impose on others.
Newsom has traveled to Montana on vacation, a prohibited place. But the hack is claiming a work around. I can never decide if democrats are this stupid or do they consider everybody else to be stupid?
First, and most obviously did Newsom delegate his powers to the Lieutenant Governor when he left the state? Governor is not an 8 to 5 job. Did he leave his cell phone and laptop at home? Reviewing and answering e-mails would seem to be an official government function.
Next, there is the matter of his protective detail. Did he leave them behind? The cops are traveling on government business to a prohibited state. The hacks have an answer for that. Operational security, don’t you know?
“The travel ban applies to expending state funds,” [Newsom flack Erin] Mellon said. “The governor’s travel is not being paid for by the state. Connecting the two is irresponsible and falsely implies there is something untoward.”

When CalMatters asked whether state funds were used to pay for security in Montana, a Newsom adviser said: “We don’t comment or provide details on the governor’s security.”
Okay, but what about his entourage of aides, secretaries and advisors? Aren’t those people sucking on the government tit?
