Bystander Comes to Cop’s Aid

A deputy in Ft Meyers, Florida was assisting the Florida Highway Patrol (FHP) at an accident scene when he was nearly struck by a car. The driver  ignored the temporary traffic pattern set up to handle the crash scene. This is an everyday occurrence, drivers are either distracted, in a hurry, too stupid to follow directions or deliberately ignore police instructions.

The deputy chased the offender who initially refused the stop and then complyed by exiting highway. The driver then charged the patrol car. He then physically attacked the officer and began beating him pinning him to the ground. An unidentified bystander intervened and threatened to shoot the suspect, if he didn’t stop beating the officer. The suspect didn’t and the bystander did… three times. The suspect was later pronounced DRT. Passerby-shoots-kills-motorist-assaulting-deputy-after-traffic-stop.

The Sheriff’s Office has since identified the suspect: Just-in-suspect-named-in-fatal-i-75-deputy-involved-incidentHe was a 53 year old black male with a history of assault (battery in Florida). Here we go again.

How will Black Lives Matter (BLM) spin this? “Unarmed Black man shot during police confrontation”, nope takes two to have a confrontation. “Unarmed Black man shot for sitting in road,” better. “Deputy Orders Killing of Unarmed Black Man,” best.

Start the story to coincide with the headline and there is no reason to mention the failure to follow directions at the accident scene, no high speed chase, no fist fight leading to a beat down, just a black guy didn’t do nuffin, when a white cop ordered a guy with a gun to shoot the innocent black guy.

It’s all in how you tell the story.
