Gun Control Good, Bad and Ugly

It Depends, it was good until a liberal wanted a gun, then it’s bad

You are probably anticipating a gun control screed. Nah, the article speaks for itself. Liberals are outraged to find that all the roadblocks to gun and ammunition purchases they pushed for, apply to them.

I rarely watch PBS, but I couldn’t sleep last night. At the conclusion of the program, I was subjected to what any normal individual would consider advertising. But this is PBS. I’m pretty sure “PBS” stands for Pretentious Bull Shit. They don’t have ads on PBS. Instead they have sponsorships.

Where have I heard that term before? I know! I know! on network TV, “We’ll be right back, after a word from our sponsor.” Apparently sponsor has a different meaning on PBS.

PBS even has a web page to explain why a commercial run on network TV is advertisement. The same commercial run on PBS is not.

I guess this is the reason why I don’t watch PBS. I’m smart enough to recognize an ad when I see one.

I got side tracked. It wasn’t the fact that PBS is playing fast and loose with terminology. It was the content that got me going.

The message was delivered by a smug self satisfied yuppie scum. His pitch is to urge listeners to donate their car to the local PBS station. It’s easy.

He then goes on to explain how his parents purchased a Mercedes Benz new, eighteen years ago. Mom and dad drove it for sixteen years. It was a good car, up until the end. Then maintenance costs forced the old man to foist the car off on his son, the yuppie scum. Guess we know where junior gets his ideas. and scruples.

Junior drives it for two more years until the wheels are falling off. Anybody wanna guess the resale value of an eighteen year old Mercedes Benz?

According to Kelly Blue Book the trade in value for a 2002 C-320 Mercedes Benz with standard equipment ranges in price between $600-1200.

Go back to the statement of the yuppie scum. The car is fraught with maintenance issues. If he put it on the open market. He might get $600. By donating the car he can double the value of the car and grab a $1200 charitable tax deduction.

It’s not like it hasn’t happened before. Recall Blow Job Bill Clinton’s tax deduction for donating his skivvies.

I know what charity is. I know what an add looks like. That puts me ahead of PBS. Donating an eighteen year old car on its last legs is not an act of charity. Advocating that activity is an advertisement.

Up is down. Down is up. Bad is good. Alcohol and pot are essential supplies. Seeds, tools and building materials are not. Liberalism is a mental disease or defect.
