Sheriff Joe Lombardo declined to disclose statements made by the suspect in the Las Vegas vehicle rampage.  The press is not happy. Fuck em.  The statements are investigative work product and not subject to disclosure. With an ongoing investigation they lack any kind of context and do not add to what is already known. When the investigation is complete I’m sure he will have more to say.

It is rare for a Chief Law Enforcement official to decline his fifteen minutes in the sun.  Thanks Sheriff for keeping the main thing the main thing, a competent and thorough investigation rather than a rush to judgment.

Remember the prime goal of the press is not to inform but to sell tampons and toilet paper.
