Eco-terrorism rises whenever government takes a conservative turn. These groups are liable to be even more strident and dangerous this go round. Consider that the previous administration gave the “Eco-folks” unprecedented power, science be damned.  Even with Obama’s support, the global warming crusade lost influence. Keep in mind that this isn’t about consensus building, it is about doing what you are told, when you are told, without question. Take a look at some of the rhetoric. The terms used, go beyond civil discourse on opposing views, and are instead a call to arms. There is no talk no consensus, what is offered is brute force and violence. I suspect that a group that is willing to shed human blood for a cause such as “Save the bare-breasted mattress thrasher” is more interested in the acquisition of power than the fate of animals.
