The song “Alice’s Restaurant” documents the arrest of the singer for littering. He is subsequently ostracized by fellow miscreants. The guy, in this story, has likely displaced Arlo, as low man on the criminal hierarchy.

I recall an insult from my childhood regarding sniffing and bicycle seats. If only he had limited himself to sniffing bicycle seats, he might still be a free man. Due to the magic of the Internet, I find out it is more than just a saying.
Why am I not surprised! There is a cottage industry that has grown up around bicycle seat sniffing. It even has a fancy name olfactophilia. There are even support groups. I don’t know if these groups are for or against such practices.
